TCM 25th Anniversary Open

Turner Classic Movies came to Versus with a concept of taking classic characters within their library and having them interact within a space. We took their idea head-on. After a few iterations of designs the Creative Director at Versus, Justin Barnes, and I decided to take the essence of what TCM was looking for and reintroduce what they had created in the past a la their 31 Days of Oscar promos from 2008-2009. The next task was going through TCM’s catalog of classic movies and finding characters that can be isolated and not interacting too much with elements within the scene. This was an enormous task for one person to take on, but I am proud to say through all the sweat and tears, I am very proud of how this spot came out. It’s kind of quick and there’s a lot to see. It takes a few viewings to take it all in. Enjoy!

This was all created in After Effects using Particular for the confetti and footage for fog and smoke.
